GHTM is the R&D Unit of the NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT-NOVA), dedicated to advancing science at the crossroads of global public health and biomedical research.

With a strong focus on innovation, equity, and sustainability, GHTM conducts interdisciplinary research, offers specialized training, and supports the development of evidence-based health policies—guided by a strong commitment to a Global Health in One Health vision.

Our work bridges academic excellence with real-world impact, connecting institutions across Portuguese-speaking countries and beyond. From population studies to state-of-the-art laboratory research on pathogens and vectors, GHTM is committed to addressing some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
