Francesca Conradie

Dr Conradie is a South African born and trained medical doctor. There is a high rate of both TB and HIV infection and disease in South Africa. Dr Conradie has dedicated her research career to translating the findings of research into therapeutics for these infections into National Policy. In the latest example of this, Dr Conradie was first the National Principal Investigator of the Nix trial, which led to the registration of BPAL by the FDA. Now she is heading the BPaL Clinical Access program where over 250 individuals have been able to access this regimen in South Africa. She has assisted in South African National TB program, and others in implementing the novel regimens.
