After spending 15 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, Véronique Dartois transitioned to academia to focus on the mechanisms contributing to the long therapy duration required to cure tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacterial disease. Her team studies spatial drug distribution and mycobacterial drug tolerance at the sites of tuberculosis infection, to rationally design new regimens that combine agents with complementary penetration and killing activity within tuberculous lesions, and apply lessons learned to NTM drug development.
