Guegan Jean François

Jean-François Guégan is both a theoretical ecologist and ecological parasitologist working in disease ecology and evolution. As a full-tenured Research Professor in the joined French research team, UMR MIVEGEC, Montpellier, he is involved in research on emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) in Africa and southern America, being an expert for WHO on skin neglected tropical diseases, and more generally on the relationships between biodiversity, climate change and EIDs. He is also a Professor at EHESP, the French School of Public Health, where he is teaching Planetary Health. He is responsible for 180 international scientific papers, 85 national ones, 12 hard-books and up to 170 international conferences. As a former fellow of the French High Council for Public Health (HCSP), he led different national reports on EIDs.
