Lalita Ramakrishnan

Lalita Ramakrishnan is Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, head of its Molecular Immunity Unit, Group Leader at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Cambridge University Hospital. Lalita pioneered the use of the zebrafish to study tuberculosis pathogenesis, taking advantage of its amenability to genetics and the optical transparency of its larvae. Her discoveries are influencing human TB treatment.
